Since 1.1.2005 it is not anymore so easy to be millionaire in Turkiye!

The new currency is "Yeni Türk Lirasi" (the new turkish lira) - YTL without the six zeros.

There are note for 5 YTL, 10 YTL, 20 YTL, 50 YTL und 100 YTL. and coins for 1 YTL, 50 Kurus, 25 Kurus, 10 Kurus, 5 Kurus und 1 Kurus.

Many small restaurants offer a complete meal for about 3 - 5 Euros!

Or how about some fresh fruit and vegetables? At the bazaar a few Lira will buy you more food than you can possibly eat. There's a huge choice and prices are very reasonable!
